Indiana AFL-CIO Endorses Evan Bayh for US Senate Race
ensuring success from top of the ticket down

Representing more than 300,000 working Hoosiers from around the state in more than 800 affiliated local unions, today the Indiana State AFL-CIO officially endorsed Evan Bayh who is running for U.S. Senate.

“On behalf of this great statewide federation of local unions we are proud to endorse Evan Bayh in his campaign for U.S. Senate,” Indiana AFL-CIO President Brett Voorhies said. “Evan has always focused on doing what was right and working with people to get things done for working families, and we are confident he will continue to do so in the U.S. Senate.”

The Indiana State AFL-CIO has declared their support of Bayh and voted to officially endorse him in the U.S. Senate race this morning.

Bayh’s voting record on labor issues fairs very well with the Indiana Sate AFL-CIO who are proud to support the former two-term governor of Indiana and former U.S. Senator who served from 1999 to 2011. Bayh supports an increase to the federal minimum wage, fought for safe working conditions and has spoken out against unfair trade agreements, and stood up to policies that benefited countries like China, which has benefitted from the loss of Indiana jobs.

“Adding Evan to the ticket will greatly impact the success of the statewide elections from the top of the ticket down,” President Voorhies said. “We are pleased to endorse yet another ally of working Hoosiers.”
