About Us

The Indiana State AFL-CIO (American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations) is a proud federation of more than 400 local unions across the state belonging to 40 different International Unions. Representing nearly 300,000 working Hoosiers including steelworkers, teachers, electricians, grocery store employees, plumbers, construction workers, bank tellers, stagehands, sanitation workers, health care aides, aerospace workers, postal service employees, operating engineers, bus drivers, sheet metal workers, flight attendants, locomotive engineers, professional actors, telecommunication workers, insulators, writers and roofers, the Indiana AFL-CIO advocates for the rights and wellbeing of all workers through grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, political action and communications.
