    Sisters & Brothers,

I’ve long encouraged my union brothers and sisters to be engaged in the political process. In fact, 77% of union members showed up to the polls in 2016, yet we still constantly face attacks at all levels of government. Because of this, my next request of you is to get directly involved in the political process by becoming a precinct committee person, regardless of your political affiliation.

Precinct committee people are the backbone of local political parties. Across the state they often have a direct say in the candidates nominated by their political party and have input on the party platform. Because of this I’m encouraging every union member and ally reading this message to get in the game by completing a CAN-37, https://www.inaflcio.org/tak…/precinct-committee-member-form, and file it with your respective county election board by February 9th at noon.

Change must come from within. If organized labor is going to become relevant in this state again we must ensure we’re electing worker-friendly candidates at all levels of government. You can help make this dream a reality and together, we can create a brighter future for working Hoosiers and their families.

If you have any questions regarding the form, please feel free to contact us!

    In Solidarity,
    Brett Voorhies, President
